The Auvo Quartet -

Creating an intoxicating blend of the colours, sounds and textures reverberating throughout the vibrant music scenes of their home cities (Newcastle - Edinburgh - Helsinki)

The band show a refreshingly open attitude towards music making and arrangement whilst their varied compositional approaches allow for a mesmerising amalgamation of contemporary sound. Combine this with virtuosic musicianship and an electric stage presence and it is no surprise that the Auvo Quartet are being heralded as one of the most enthralling young bands on the folk/world music circuit today.

2 fantastic guests to join us on German jour!!

The Auvo Quartet are touring Germany in August 2010 (Dates TBA) and I am very pleased to announce that we are being joined by two fantastic musicians! Our accordionist Julian is away in Canada then with the brilliant English singer Kate Rusby. He is being replaced on this tour by the awesome piano-accordionist Amy Thancher (The Shee, Kathryn Tickell Band) We will also be taking the brilliant Finnish drummer/percussionist Oskari Lehtonen to make our sound even bigger!!

Welcome to our new web-site! It's been a while coming but now you can listen to our music, view video clips, tour dates, visit our shop and find out the latest information here first! After a short break for other projects and collaborations (including Julian's exciting work with Sting!!) We're back and ready to take 2010 by storm with a hectic touring schedule and a new album out in autumn/winter.
